In the Truso Valley - the north slope of the Caucasus along one of the tectonic-erosive basins – in many places there are lime travertine build ups precipitated by the springs. They are mostly associated with the carbonate sequence.
One of the most important and picturesque locations of the travertine is above the Kasriskhevi Jaw, on the right bank of the river Tergi. Here are plenty of water modeled travertine “fields” which are in the process of intensive development. Transparent water is spread as the thin layer on this dazzling white surface and creates a lot of pure small puddles.
