New information boards & sign-postings installed in Gudauri, Bakuriani & Tetnuldi. The project “Creation of information and communication tool for the local community and visitors of mountain destinations through installation of information boards and signposts at the tourist destination of high mountainous regions of Georgia” conducted by the Mountain Resorts Development Company subordinated to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia is finished.
The project goal was to establish information dissemination sources and to enable local community and visitors to obtain useful information on the mountain tourist destinations through informative boards and signposts and improve communication between resort management and visitors/local population.
Within the project implementation and in line the project goal, the following results were achieved:
Communication tool between the local management and the local community/visitors created; Tourist infrastructure and services improved and developed; Effective source of dissemination of information including the various events (sport, cultural, social events), local news, weather forecast, avalanche risks, status of the ski lifts etc. established; Mountain ski resorts Gudauri, Bakuriani and Tetnuldi with the information boards and signposts installed at the nearby terrain of main ski-pistes and at the easily accessible terrain equipped.
After delivery and installation of materials at the mountain destinations, trainings were held in managing and maintaining information panels, boards and signposts for Gudauri, Bakuriani and Tetnuldi 76 rescuers and resorts’ administrative personnel. Training covered topics including creation of database, collection of information from the specific sources; preparation of information about the weather forecast, avalanche risk areas, working status of the ski-lifts; updating and publishing information daily with coordination of the respective bodies. Trainings were focused on the development of administrative and communication skills of the mountain resorts’ personnel.
Trainings were held by the highly qualified experts: “Avalanche safety and updating and publishing information daily with coordination of the respective bodies”; “Service + and its role in tourism development & preparation of information on the board”, “Service + and its role in tourism development & preparation of information on the board”.
76 rescuers & staff of resorts have been trained.
